Qualifying for a BIPOC-Led Organization Discount

The majority of nonprofits serve minority communities that are not reflected in institutional leadership. In an effort to increase access to funding for organizations that prioritize the voices of people of color, especially women, LGBTQIA+ folks, and people with disabilities, Stickney Murphy Consulting offers services on a sliding scale for social impact organizations with budgets under $1M that are BIPOC led.

In order to qualify for a BIPOC-led discount, at least 50% of the organization/movement’s leadership must include people who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) with an operating budget less than $1 million. “Leadership” includes people with significant influence of decision-making power (i.e. the executive director, management staff, and advisory committee members or governing boards).

Discounts are made in a proportional percentage of the total operating budget to $1 million not to exceed 50%. For example, a BIPOC-led organization with an operating budget of $800,000 would receive a 20% discount on service fees while a BIPOC-led organization with an operating budget of $400,000 would receive a 50% discount.
